Commissioning
Commissioning a new work is an exciting prospect! In our mass-produced world, it is a rare treat to own and enjoy a piece that has been created specifically with you and your unique requirements in mind. I particularly value the collaborative aspect of working with a client, whether your needs are very definite, or if you simply have a general idea of where to go. Clear communication helps make the process mutually rewarding.
Details
We'll spend some time together, whether by e-mail, phone, or a visit to my shop, discussing your project and generating a rough idea sketch or two, with no obligations. Generally, more precise drawings, and further development is required to advance the project. Design time is billed at $50 per hour. Typically (though it depends on the complexity of the project), $250 will get us to a design and a firm estimate (barring any further design changes).
Payment plans can be customized, but my usual arrangement is 50% due when you accept the design. This secures a spot in my schedule and covers material acquisition. The balance is due upon completion.
